Children & Young People 

We offer a range of services for children and young people with disabilities or additional learning needs, who live within the County of Wrexham. Please see the full range of services and their eligibility criteria below and if any of our services would benefit a child/young person please download and complete a referral form.

We also provide various services for parent/carers and families

of children with disabilities or additional learning needs. 

Dynamically  Active 

Overview:

A time-limited service that empowers children/young people to be able to access a community based activity as independently as possible. Some children/young people may never be able to attend independently but this will not be a barrier, the goal is always to look for sustainable options for the child/young person after the agreed Dynamic support plan has finished. There could be a variable session charge for this service dependent on the activity the individual has chosen.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Children/Young People: Aged 8 - 19 years.

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability/disorder, or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

  • A commitment from the child/young person and/or parent/carer to look at activities that can be sustainable.

Tae Kwan Do Boy Training

Dynamic After-School Groups

​Overview:

Term time after-school, Saturday activity groups and holiday schemes for children and young people. These groups provide fun and stimulating  opportunities to help develop their personal, social, communication, emotional and independent life skills whilst developing friendships. There is a sessional charge towards activity costs, hot snacks and refreshments.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Children/young people: Aged 8 - 19 years.

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

Ball Drop playing

Dynamically Empowered

Overview:

A time-limited advocacy service supporting children/young people to have their voice heard on any decisions that affect them. The service will help children/young people to develop their sense of self-confidence and self-worth, to be able to express their feelings and wishes where they feel they are not being listened to and their voice is not being heard.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Children/Young People: Aged 8 - 25 years

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability/disorder, or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

Meeting

Dynamic Friends

Overview:

A group for young people/young adults to take part in an activity session with their peers in a supportive environment.

Support can be provided, or own support is welcomed.

There is a variable session charge for this service dependent on support needs.

  • Young people: Aged 16 - 25 years.

  • Have a diagnosed disability or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.​

Beeches meal with friends

Dynamic Signing Sensations 

Overview:

A BSL signing choir for young people to learn sign language in fun weekly sessions and perform at local events. There is no individual support provided for choir members and all members are expected to be able to practice/perform independently or with support from their own carer. There is a sessional charge to cover associated costs.

​Eligibility Criteria 

  • Children/Young People: Aged 12 – 25 Years.

  • Have a diagnosed disability or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

  • Be able to attend independently or with support from their own carer.

Dynamic Voice

Overview:

A weekly participation group of children/young people who work with local organisations and contribute to national consultations on disability specific matters. The sessions include debates, responding to consultations, developing decision making skills. The group aims to represent the voice of children/young people with disabilities locally.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Children/young people : Aged 8 – 25 Years.

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

  • Be able to attend independently or with support from their own carer.

Dynamically You

(A Course for Young People) 

Overview:

A course to build and improve confidence and strengthen resilience of children/young people. This course focuses on communication, teamwork, emotions and feelings, self positive promotion, respectfulness, friendships, focus and motivation.

8 sessions held over a number of weeks.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Children/Young People: Aged 10 - 19 years

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability/disorder, or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.

Dynamically You group

Invent Your Future 

(a recognised course for young people, parents/carers)

​Overview:

A course designed to build positive attitudes, habits and expectations, develop effective thinking skills and aspirations, help to equip with the knowledge needed to change their thinking and generate motivation, efficacy and optimism. These sessions are run separately for young people and parents/carers.

Eligibility Criteria:​

Child/Young Person 

  • Children/Young People: Aged 14 - 19 years

  • Live in Wrexham County Borough.

  • Have a diagnosed disability/disorder, or where there is professional concern about the individual: a physical/social/emotional/health/behavioural issue that is having a detrimental impact on their development and a formal disability diagnosis is being sought.​

Parent/Carer

  • Living in Wrexham County Borough

  • Caring for a child/young person (as described above).
